Prawning was awesome fun with the family ytday(: Everyone came down, which made it all the more enjoyable. We had group games before lunch, and guess which team won? Well, obviously, our table won! Can you sense my smugness heheh

I caught 4 prawns in two hours. Okay not the best numbers BUT BUT BUT the place was crowded with my family and Mummy’s colleagues and their families too! Plus, there were 13 of us there and by the end of the day we had over 40 prawns. Before leaving we took silly silly silly pictures around the place. Didn’t bring a camera so everything’s with Kak Zimah and Alan.

Went home to Amazing Race at 6(: Meghan and Cheyne won and I’m glad, cos the other two don’t deserve the prize as much. Slept at 730 I think. Was exhausted from sleeping late the previous night.

This morning I woke up to a toasted tuna sandwich, followed by a few episodes of Archie’s Weird Mysteries. Then I caught Case 39 at 10.25, at Westmall. It’s pretty good for a thriller/horror(ish) movie, and I quite enjoyed watching it with Kakak. Yay so it’s been a pretty good start to the week ahead.

(There’s Chem tuition at 6 today.) Okeydokey shall see what there is to do.

I just finished Shopgirl, a movie based on Steve Martin’s novella. It’s a bittersweet romance between three people – a love triangle – which adds up to a lovely story.

I love this scene where Jeremy, played by Jason Swartzman (Robert Swartzman of Princess Diaries!!!’s brother), confronts Mirabelle during their second date 14 months after their failed first. Hehe was that confusing? Anyway, here it is.

I’ve been reading a lot of books on tape, about getting into the moment. And I think this is the moment and in the moment – this moment – I think we should kiss. And I’ve stood right here before and I’ve been hurt, I’ve been rejected by you, a-and I’m going to ask you to kiss me again. And umm.. and… will you just kiss me?

I just love the whole, sincerity of the movie. The lines are delivered as they are meant to be said. Nothing ott, or too well-scripted. Plus the ending’s great, just the kind I like in movies like this (:

As Ray Porter watches Mirabelle walk away, he feels a loss. How is it possible he thinks, to miss a woman whom he kept at a distance so that when she was gone, he would not miss her. Only then does he realise how wanting part of her, and not all of her, had hurt them both. And how he cannot justify his actions, except well, it was life.

I dreamt last night that two people I know smoked. One a close relative, another an old friend. In the dream, I was more concerned and worried about the relative than my friend, just because I half-expected (subconsciously) my friend to turn out that way. I woke up feeling so confused. I should have been impartial right? I can’t shake off this realisation that I am very deeply biased to people I love. It’s agitating but I guess a dream’s a dream right?

I just finished Nicholas Sparks’ A Lucky One. Quite disappointing, imo, since I’ve read A Walk to Remember and Dear John. Those two books are more impressive and more… emotion-provoking? A Lucky One seems too easy to be true. But to each his own, and if Sparks was satisfied with that story then I’ve nothing to say. Still, like most books, I find something I can relate to (:

Jack just left for Malaysia. Sigh that’s two friends gone for the hols (Alethea left yesterday).  Hmm what shall I do now I’m bored. And I feel like eating a warm dessert. Eeee boredom overcoming overwhelming overtaking meee

I was damn happy for a moment today during the wedding we went to. The woman gave me a kid’s berkat hehehehehe I was smiling and laughing at Kakak cos she got the old people’s boiled egg. But then Papa got her the kid’s thing so we were back to equal oh well. Kakak and I swore against karaoke at our weddings. Way too many times where guests like us were “entertained” by unpleasant singing, to put it nicely.

We’re going prawning tomorrow for Mummy’s office’s family day. All of us are going down so it should be fun.

There was a blonde who found herself sitting next to a Lawyer on an airplane. The lawyer just kept bugging the blonde wanting her to play a game of intelligence. Finally, the lawyer offered her 10 to 1 odds, and said every time the blonde could not answer one of his questions, she owed him $5, but every time he could not answer hers, he’d give her $50.00. The lawyer figured he could not lose, and the blonde reluctantly accepted.

The lawyer first asked, “What is the distance between the Earth and the nearest star?”

Without saying a word the blonde handed him $5. then the blonde asked, “What goes up a hill with 3 legs and comes back down the hill with 4 legs?”

Well, the lawyer looked puzzled. He took several hours, looking up everything he could on his laptop and even placing numerous air-to-ground phone calls trying to find the answer. Finally, angry and frustrated, he gave up and paid the blonde $50.00

The blonde put the $50 into her purse without comment, but the lawyer insisted, “What is the answer to your question?”

Without saying a word, the blonde handed him $5.

Moving on. Today’s outing to East Coast Park went well (: The kids seemed to enjoy themselves and everything worked out in the end. A slight drizzle started shortly after we reached, but cleared up by the middle of the games.

Sigh I want to go to the beach with friends and sit on a mat reading while they go play. Heh I’ll join for a while but somehow I imagine myself going back to the book. Then we’d have ham or egg sandwiches for breaks served with cold punch from a cooler. Mmhm that sounds right. After all that the music will play and everyone’ll do what they normally do; dance or bop or shimmy and shake. Then the sun will set and we’d be all gushy and romantic and snuggle close while watching the orange sky sinks to blue.

Oh guess what. I ran yesterday. For a while before they closed the stadium for a sports event. My quadriceps is in agony. I haven’t run that much since 2.4 this year hahaha okay should really try to get fit but so malas ya get what i meann

Which was good! I love simple plots on days when my brain doesn’t want complicated twists but not in the mood for a chick flick. It’s about a stuttering boy who gets on the debate team but finds out later that… Well it’s nice watching movies not expecting anything or knowing the plot. Makes it more enjoyable (:

Then turned on Ghosts of Girlfriends Past. Which I blogged about here before. So, good movie nonetheless.

Showered and left for school. For one measly Bio lecture hehe but nvm. Met Saiful on the bus, so got to talk to him a bit, something I hardly get to do normally. So after Bio I went to Orchard and met Kakak. Walked for hours (lunch in between) and reached Plaza Sing. Where Time Bookshop was having a sale. Haha not a lot of books but I bought 4 for 34, which is quite good actually. Got The History Boys’ DVD too; am looking forward to watching it again!

Papa picked us up then we went to Nenek’s house. Went to Sheng Siong with Cik Ami after that and got myself a muffin mix so I’m baking them nowww(: I’m happy now cos I just had a chocolate chip filled one.

Sigh. Sometimes I can’t bring myself to do stuff. I think I’m scared most of the time, but I guess we’ve got to take risks right? Okay I shall try to resolve that issue soon. (:

I did Chem yesterday and today (: I actually can do the questions. Amazing. Hahaha

I keep having strange dreams. A few nights ago I dreamt we were in a room trying to call a dead person back to life :O Then the night after I dreamt a lizard was running around my feet and woke up kicking. Then just last night (this morning rather, cos I slept in), I dreamt Alan (my cousin) smokes. I woke up feeling so upset. When I saw him later today I told him if he ever smokes I’ll never talk to him again.

Seriously, I think something dark is looming. :/

I guess life’s getting better. Kakak finishes her last A level paper tomorrow then we should be able to go out again. I shall treat her to a movie or something. Haven’t done anything together with her for some time, actually.

Papa left for Jakarta earlier this evening. Sigh that means I have to take the bus to school tomorrow. Alaa I am not looking forward to that. Oh well, at least he’s coming back soon.

Haha oh yes Mummy’s office is organising a family day in two weeks time. We’re going prawn fishing in Yishun hehehe that’s a first. Should be quite the event (:
